Scout & Guide

  • Scouting is an educational movement based on open air games. Scouts and guides learn through play way method which brings integral development in a child. They become good leaders as well as good followers. This activity helps instill moral, social and democratic values besides developing the spirit of cooperation and community living on the one hand and the qualities of leadership and enterprise on the other. Scouting is a movement not a mere organization that is the key word. Scouting is young all these 90 years and the foremost uniformed youth movement which nearly 90 million scouts all over the world.
  • So, our Principal Mrs. J. Jagtap decided to start scout & guide from June 2008. On 9th August 2008, Mr. Nawab Sir (Asst. Dist. Commissioner-Scout) gave batch, scarf and promise to V , VI, VII students.
  • Students have a small group of 6 to 8 boys in one group called as a scout & 6 to 8 girls in one group called as guides. These groups are called patrol. This patrol is the finest club in the world. It is the basic unit which makes scouting go. Every patrol has a name of animals and birds. Members of the patrol use its sound.
  • Scouter and guider will learn different activities like wood craft signs, whipping knots, skill games, rowdy games team games, quiet games, wide games, first aid, pioneering, whistle signals, hand signals etc.
      • After completing Dwitiya sopan and Tritiya sopan there will be 6 months syllabus. After this syllabus they can get “Rajya Puraskar” and within 1 year they can get “Rashtrapati Puraskar”.

  • In the year 2008-09, scouter and guider gave their contribution for Bihar Relief Fund. They participated in the World Animal Welfare Day on 4th Oct. 2008, also scouter-guider worked in a “Khari Kamai Yojana” which is a part of scout & guide. They did some work like gardening, cleaning the house, shops, painting the furniture, carrying goods from one place to another etc. So, all these activities will make our scouter-Guider a good citizen, naturalist & community worker.
  • Millions have played the game to a great advantage. Once you become a scout, you will not want to be and other, a young scout now, happy frolicking and savoring the new experiences and an old scout, serene and content after a life time of happy experiences of self discovery, helpfulness and growth.

“Once a scout, always a scout.”
